Another day at Work…

Today I get to Be Fat, Literally as we shoot a TVC For a Slimming Pill Brand Xenical.

Vanity should be part of the seven deadly sins, the excessive belief in one’s own abilities or attractiveness to others. Some do give grave importance on how they look. They value their worth in accordance to how many people find them beautiful. It’s true that being attractive can give you a heads start if applying for a Job or give you extra incentives in making more friends, reaching a level of popularity and for actresses and models book you more jobs.

But looking Gorgeous can only get you so far. I have nothing against beauty, I myself would kill for a day in Anne Hathaways Body, but the question is how far will this take you. People have started valuing substance, intelligence and that shining aura of kindness people exude other that what is physical…

But then again the Irony of it all, is that our Catholic upbringing teaches us to take care of ones body because it is the vessel of ones soul. Taking care of your body, eating healthy and not abusing it, finding means to improve it medical or not somewhat  is a way of saying thank you to God for giving you all of these.

All in all it all relies in a Healthy balance. And as I have read over and over  in all the Psychology books and glossy magazines. Feeling Good about yourself makes you work better, live better, live longer

So lose weight if you can! find Healthy Alternatives, Your body will thank you!

So here it is, My Xenical shoot. It took us 6am-3am nextday to finish and I pitied the other girl who did the other story board before me, she somehow became the guinea pig, 6 hours for makeup and had to stand in the afternoon sun to shoot. You can just imagine all that foam body suit plus prosthetic s,… not even squirming ,she was all smiles actually, now that’s what you call loving your job and professionalism. Bright side she got to go home ahead of everyone.

My makeup started around 4pm, Prosthetic’s was kindda itchy and the awful smell of the glue, 3 hours in the make-up chair, Although it was so amusing seeing myself transform from a 110 lbs ( yes! Im not lying about my weight :p ) to a good 300ish pound girl.  Glad mine was an elevator scene, meaning studio! meaning airconditioning! yeep and believe it or not a week before I had to diet, crazy. During the fitting the wardrobe was making comments like ” Oh eh konti nalang pala idadagdag raine eh ” Me ” Just Smiling ” This industry!  I missed IT!

It took me 20 takes at 3 am in the morning to get the perfect reaction. I wanted to cry… The entire crew… up since 6am… and this talent cant even get it right!  Geez! I guess taking a break for a year does take its toll on you, the Assistant director had to count 1,2,3  just so I can follow the reactions. Its like acting Non-spontaneously… Thats how bad it was! dreadful! Though the TVC turned a-ok.

What is your Top 10 Classic Scarry Movies?

Freak that Iam, At the age of 4 my older sister has forced me and made me cry countless times over her worship for scarry movies. It was constant nightly replays of the Classics, those spooky semi-blurry movies that still make you cringe and the hair on your backs stand out. In VHS , remembering my sister Car rewinder.

Now officially a Horror/Gore Movie Oddity and nobody will understand why me and my Brother would often giggle at the most terrifying part of the movie

Heres my list of the best of the Best:

1.) Night of the Living Dead – Trapped inside a house, with a viral infection of death.A group of people hide from bloodthirsty zombies in a farmhouse. This is the teplate for all those other Walking – Zombie Dead Movies out there and will always be one of the Classics. Somehow the dead here hasnt learned how to run yet. haha.

2.) Amityville Horror – What can be more frightening, Than a true Story and yep the Amityville houes does exist, 22 Oceans Avenue, Amityville New York City, In the 1970′s a father, Ronal Defeo found with Shitzophrenia killed his entire family at 3:15  blaming a possesion of Demonic Forces ordered him to kill them…This gives me the heeebeeegeebeees

3.) The Lost Boys – This is My Ultimate Vampire Movie! Before there was Bella and Edward. There was Starr and David. If you havent seen this, well you are missing half of your life. This you have to see. And the sountrack is to die for. David Marry Me Please!

4.) The Exorcist -The 360 Head turn, Lines ” Fuck Me God” and “Where is your God Now Priest?” Questioning Gods existence Makes it Masterly Horrific

5.) Village of the Dammed – Beautiful, Obedient, Almost Perfect Kids….too good to be true… Damn Right! they are posseed! Looks can be decieving…

7.) People Under the Stairs -Two adults and a juvenile burglar break into a house occupied by a brother and sister and their stolen children and can’t escape. Stolen and trapped under the stairs……Makes me wonder about our stairs…Bravo Wes Craven

8.) Nightmare on Elm Street -In the dreams of his victims, a spectral child murderer stalks the children of the members of the lynch mob that killed him…Freddy Krugers Revenge…and you are not suppose to fall asleep.

9.) Thinner-  two words “Stephen King” Still one of the best horror author ever, A short film. Struggling with weight, a man is gypsy cursed to keep on getting thinner….thinner…thinner until he finally dies.

10.) Childs Play & Chuckie – This gave birth to countless, sequels but In my opinion the 1st one is still the best. Young Andy Barclay gets the doll he wanted. However, he did not know it was alive! Nights starring at my toys until I fell as sleep making sure they didnt movie. “Hi My Name is Chuckie Wanna Play”

Time to Google and Bring out all that Collection of Movie Classics! Happy halloween!

Brazilians Who??? Cracker TVC

Ok, They have monopolized the modelling Industry and we get their point, Their race has one of the most perfect gene pool combination that was able to produce that asymmetrical facial features, long, thin, skinny bodies, with tanned skin, blue eyes and blonde hair…. and yes you are always a staple at the Miss Universe competition always being a part of the top 5. Do I need to say more? Brazilians are born to be beautiful.

It’s just so sad that there was a moment in th Filipino modelling Industry that Brazilian was all they wanted. They would flyin the country some without working permits even, snag all the big accounts, all the facial, feminine wash, shampoo accounts and fly back home with our money! Poor us! How can you compete with all that legs! haha. Great that time is now changing, and we are even winning International Competitions for the past consecutive years, Filipino’s can also be beautiful in their own way.

There was a time early 2009 that I would sit at castings, wait for my turn and not understand a word said by any model beside me. The fly in models have a way of swarming in groups, or if they arrived alone they would find their group in the room and start talking, Ekkkk… there was a time that I could hear, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Brazilian? all in one room as small as a regular womens public bathroom. And you ask yourself, How can I not be intimidated. Height alone were not at par.

And here little old me would start texting my agency ” Hello! bakit po ako pinadala dito? Peg ko ba po hinahanap? Eh ate puro brazilians kaya nanditey? Addict ka lang mars? ” haha and the predictable reply of the agency ” Go! lang Raine! malay mo! ” So stuck in a rut, I was already there make-up done, and ang layo kaya ng Makati no!!! sayang naman! Mind you, I used to take cabs, Mrt and Lrt when I was coding, just to be able to cast, sipag ko lang teh.

So the regular VTR, name, age, commercials done, to the left, to the right, and a little acting….Ok thanks raine we will call you nalang. Ok thanks! Amazing after a week I got called back, I came form bora then, I think I had a shoot for tv, then with whatever clothes i had with me, I had to final cast. So…here comes the final casted Brazilians, We were asked to eat creackers, sit on a bench and act as friends, then last part was the pairng, for this TVC they needed 2 girls and 1 guy. People are paired to make sure they look good on screen together. Now time to pair me up with a brazilian … This part I will remember and find funny, We now stood side by side, me and the other girl. Then AD shouts ” Eh, Pwede ba humingi ng apple box dyan para kay Raine ” Kawawa! Apple box is a box for me to step on so I’d look as tall as the other girls. See I told you sa height palang di na talo?

Anyways, to make the story short, Director talked to me and asked ” Madami ka naman heels no “, Ans ” Yes, Direk ” Sige We will just let your agencies know who got booked…after I week, I got a call, and I got the part, Yey! See! Filipino’s are beautiful after all.

This is for a Cracker TVC, So every time I go to castings now, whenever I see brazilians in the room, I’d say, Brazilians Who? haha.

All of a sudden there is an urgency, A ticking time bomb, a stop watch, That makes us think “What the hell am I doing with my life?” Sin of  envy over others who have done and achieved more, and a fuel to be more, do more…. cautiously knowing my time is running out.

I read a saying “People change out of Inspiration or Desperation” and a mix of both makes the perfect combination. But my uncle used to remind me that “Haste makes waste” and it is a given fact that things don’t usually turn out the way you planned. I used to want to get married and have kids by this age…But you only live once and there is nothing wrong with being a tad bit selfish… I want to travel the world and spend everything I earned on me, on my love ones and family. When I run out of energy and end up in exhaustion then probably having kids would be the next option. Finally I think Im getting there… I kindda found happiness all on my own.

In a span of a year with focus and the want to discover who I really am beyond any relationship, any dependency. I was able to put up Humble online Business acknowledge as on of the best Business in Multiply.com for 2011 The Bag Finder Ph and a Restaurant Opening this February 2012 Katipunan. Im extremely blessed and God should ground me for still complaining, as you get more, you want more… contentment is a long winding process.

Excited and Scared as I brave through the Restaurant Business this year. With a handful of courage, a part of my savings, my friends and bucket of prayers… Stoplight says go and there is no turning back. “The Bigger the risk, the bigger the reward” and I just Cant wait. Opening this 3rd week of February 2012

Beautiful Faces -How I wish I looked like you! :)

I have this thing of watching any movie or series and giving it a 30 minutes benefit of the doubt…

Meaning no one takes off their clothes, shows their boobies or starts with a storyline so boring you feel the urge to read the CD’s back cover just to entertain yourself.

But sometimes, I keep watching, no matter how crappy the sequence, the special effects, the acting might be. Just about to Sleep…

All my windows Closed…

And as I stood up to turn off the lights

I see a huge Beautiful Yellow Moth the size of my hand, Flew peacefully over my head and Landed by the Curtains

As I asked our househelp to carefully bring it outside without hurting it. I got reminded that often butterflies and Moths are messages from spirits and souls, Checking how you are and sometimes a way of saying goodbye.

Yellow is the color of hope and happiness… And I suddenly remembered its my Dads 68th Birthday This Nov. 6

I know Im not that superstitious, but it brought a warm feeling, believing that Dad visited me tonight and brought a message of Hope and Happiness.

Happy Happy Birthday Daddy, I will always be Your Daddys Little Girl. I love you So Much!
